The Belizean Kriol proverb, “wan, wan, okra full baskit,” roughly translates to “step by step, we will reach our goal.”  In this spirit, Full Basket Belize was founded in 2005 to support those working for positive change at the grass roots of Belize. Student by student and project by project, Full Basket Belize helps improve the education, health, environment, and economic development of Belizean communities.

The FBB Scholars Program partners with secondary schools across Belize to provide students with scholarships. We are supporting 45 high-achieving, deserving students in 2023-24 — all made possible by your fabulous support!

Visit our Scholars Program webpage for complete information.

FBB’s Community Grants Program has supported dozens of Belizean communities to improve their education, health and environment since 2005.

Fueling Dreams — May Match Fundraiser

Going to high school in Belize is a dream for many deserving students.  One big reason is that high school in Belize is not free.  It costs an average of over $1,000 US  for a family to send one student to high school for a year.  Families with limited means really struggle to pay for their children’s education.

Two of our generous donors, Dave and Susi Cleveland, want to help fuel the dreams of worthy students like those pictured below.  The Clevelands have offered to provide $2,000 US to support our scholarship program if we can raise $2,000 US to match their contribution.  A total of $4,000 US will support eight scholarships for the school year 2024-25!

We have just 3 weeks to match the $2,000 US in contributions to meet this goal.  There are many ways to donate — it’s easy!  See below for options.

Can you help us fuel dreams?

Give $50, FBB gets $100. It’s that simple. Every little bit helps!

Meet FBB Scholar Daniela Chuc

Daniela is currently completing her second year at Belize High School of Agriculture.  She and her family of five live in Orange Walk Town.  Daniela applied for a Full Basket Belize scholarship because her father’s construction job does not pay enough to support two students in high school where the average expenses run $1,000 US per student.

Daniela has a part-time job working in a shop, is responsible for completing many chores around the house, and plays on her school’s soccer team – all this in addition to being an excellent student in school.  Academically, Daniela ranks first in her class.  Her adult recommendation states that she works hard, has excellent study habits, voluntarily helps classmates in understanding their assignments, and shows strong leadership skills.

Once Daniela graduates from high school, she hopes to continue her studies in the agriculture sciences at university.  With her degree in hand, she hopes to become an agronomist.

Daniela is emblematic of the wonderful, hard-working students Full Basket Belize supports through its scholarship program.  If you would like to support future deserving students like Daniela, please donate to Full Basket Belize.
